During a night off from their North American tour, The Beatles spent an evening with Elvis Presley August 1965 at his Hollywood home No press or cameras were allowed.
“We met Elvis Presley at the end of our stay in LA. We had tried for years, but we could never reach it. We thought we were a threat to him and Colonel Tom Parker, which we actually were. So even though we tried a few times, Colonel Tom just came with a few memories and that should do us good for a while. We didn’t feel left out; we felt that we deserved to be cast aside. After all, he was Elvis, and who were we to dare to meet him? But we finally got an invitation to go see him when he was shooting a movie in Hollywood. -Paul McCartney
